Llwyddo’n Local Residential Weekend is for families who are considering returning to the ARFOR area. The aim of the project is to provide an opportunity for the families to experience life in the area and to explore any possible challenges they may face when making the decision.
The weekend was held in October 2023 with two young families who are considering moving to spend a weekend free of charge at Bargoed Farm near Aberaeron to experience rural life and the opportunities that ARFOR has to offer. The weekend included leisure sessions, activities for the children and an opportunity to take part in conversations about the process of return from a variety of individuals and organisations. Among the sessions was one run by Mudiad Ysgolion Meithrin about raising children in the ARFOR area and there were discussions about setting up a business and working in west Wales.
It was a pleasure to welcome several families to the event. We are keen to have honest conversations with families about the obstacles that hold them back from returning to ARFOR and also highlight the opportunities available in ARFOR and the support we can provide through the Llwyddo’n Lleol project.
