Algae Trap Service

The objective of this pilot is to develop and test an innovative method of removing algae contamination from ponds in the ARFOR region. They are also trying to prove that the service is more successful because it is available in Welsh.

Communities and businesses in the ARFOR region benefit greatly from access to beautiful natural habitats, including rivers, ponds and lakes. Unfortunately, the contamination of ponds and lakes with algae and blue-green algae has a negative impact on the ecosystem of the water bodies and negatively impacts the communities and businesses that depend on these unique natural resources for income.

Pennotec produces natural fibers from crab shells that bind to and then remove contaminants in water.
